Warwick Hotel Dubai in conjunction with Ahlan Art Gallery from London, hosts an art exhibition Spirit of Islam, which embodies the essence of Islamic culture.
A collection of 35 paintings by artists from across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the UK. The artwork incorporate verses from the Holy Quran, as well as abstract pieces showcasing the essence of the Hajj.
Following the Eid celebrations, the exhibition is scheduled to take place on the ground of the Warwick Hotel Dubai from 27 September to 18 October.
Spirit of Islam will feature some of the newest pieces from Ahlan Art’s collection. A combination of acrylic and ink paintings on canvas, photography, and even sculptures.
Hassan Mawji, the co-founder of Ahlan Art and the charity Mount Elimu, welcomes Ahlan Art’s exhibition at the hotel: “We are about giving a voice to emerging artists, and creating opportunities to highlight the intricate nature of Islamic Art”.
Mawji says: “Even a lot of non-Muslims will find a relationship with Islamic art. Many feel at peace when observing Islamic art, regardless of their faith. Islamic art is becoming highly coveted and the pieces in the gallery range in price from US$2,000 (AED 7,350) to $13,000 (AED 47,450).
The Warwick Hotel Dubai brings together modern architectural features, which perfectly match the collection that connects the hotel to the region’s vibrant art and culture heritage. Providing a renewed perspective on Middle Eastern Contemporary Art, the art is playfully arranged throughout the hotel and its grounds.
