The Warwick Fiji celebrated its annual Sports Day this month, on a swelteringly hot day at The Naviti sports ground on the Coral Coast, in conjunction with its annual Employee of the Year awards and launch of the Biggest Loser Team Challenge.
The Sports Day was officially opened by the chief guest – well-known sporting personality, rugby player and coach Mr Jiko Matawalu.
Mr Watawalu had a message for The Warwick staff that we all need to look after ourselves by eating real food grown in the ground, eating smaller portions and the importance of being active so that we can live long and healthy lives.
During the day, four combined departmental teams competed for trophies in touch rugby, netball, volleyball, and tug of war, and with entertainment items which had everyone shrieking with laughter.
Further entertainment was provided by a band and lunch was served by the management team.
Brad Downton, General Manager of The Warwick Fiji, said: “The sports day was an opportunity to bring the team together with laughter to celebrate the resort’s successes in 2015. We had a record year which culminated in receiving two Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice Awards – we were placed in the Top 10 Hotels Fiji and Top 10 Luxury Hotels Fiji”.
The finale of the day was the announcement of The Warwick Fiji Employee of the Year Awards winners.
The winners were Employee of the Year Front of House Eparama Naiyalatabua, Employee of the Year Heart of House Marisilini Saudrau, Supervisor of the Year Khaja Koya, and Manager of the Year Roselyn Navutu.
“Based in the successes of the year it was difficult to single out individuals’ performances however the quality and consistent service delivery of the Employee of the Year winners stood out from our team of high performers” Mr Downton said.
